Have your insurance information ready (or a payment method if self-pay). We’ll verify coverage and walk you through any costs or options available.
Begin Treatment at Blue Star
Once your screening is complete and you’re approved, you’ll be scheduled to begin treatment—often within days. Our IOP and outpatient programs offer flexible daytime and evening options to fit your schedule.
What Should I Bring to Blue Star IOP?
Here’s a helpful list of items you should bring on your first day at our mental health IOP.
- Your health insurance card
- A government issued photo ID
- Any medical records we’ve requested
Please Note:
If you’re joining our Intensive Outpatient Program and taking advantage of a supportive living arrangement, the supportive living place will have their own list of what to bring or not bring with you— be sure to check with them, if that applies to you or your loved one.
Blue Star Mental Health Admissions FAQs
Here are answers to some of the most common questions we are asked about our admissions process or policies.
Q.
What is the self-pay rate for your mental health IOP?
Our discounted self-pay rate is $_____ per day. The length of stay in our program may vary from person to person depending on their needs, but once your clinical assessment is done, we should have a recommendation for length of stay.
Please give us a call at (732) 686-0007 if you have any further questions about self-paying for treatment at Blue Star Mental Health.
Q.
What if I also have a substance use disorder?
If you have a dual-diagnosis (mental health and addiction) then we will refer you to Blue Star Recovery, our dual-diagnosis treatment program. There you will receive the best care available for both your mental health and substance use at the same time for the best results.
Q.
Why can’t we just drive there and sign up?
It is important for prospective Blue Star Mental Health clients and family members to follow our admissions procedure. This helps us maintain a peaceful therapeutic environment and protect patient privacy. This also ensures that you’re a good fit for our program both medically and clinically.
Before anyone can begin treatment at the Blue Star Mental Health IOP, they must:
- Have insurance verification and approval (or self-pay)
- Have completed a pre-admit phone screening with us.
- Have been approved for admission by our Clinical Director
